I share my birthday

with the poet Robert Lowell who wrote (an excerpt from "Epilogue":

Pray for the grace of accuracy
Vermeer gave to the sun's illumination
stealing like the tide across a map
to his girl solid with yearning.
We are poor passing facts,
warned by that to give
each figure in the photograph
his living name.

______________

I am wise enough to be humbled by his writing and to just share this excerpt with you, my readers.

it's only an excerpt so I am probably not doing justice to the poem. But is you just say the words aloud, it'slovely music.
